We now have 58 cemeteries on line with photographs and readings. The team will be back on the road tomorrow so be sure and check back in the next few days. The only portion of the web page, unfortunately that is not set back up is the mailing list. We will try to have that recovered by next week.

On Fri. the 13th my server in Detroit was hit by a hacker and all the uploaded cemeteries were destroyed as were my business pages and several other business accounts that shared in our group. We are slowly uploading all again + several new ones making the total about 63 by the end of week. Please check back often - if you find the link "dead" try again the next day - I have the web master uploading some and I am updating as quickly as possible. We have also filed a complaint because they did not have a back up system in place. Rest assured that we keep back up upon backup of the cemeteries. We are also creating maps as we work. If you need services beyond what is online please contact me for details. In the meantime thanks to everyone for all the support to make this project possible.

My line of Loceys were not Scottish, however, they were from Zeeland in the Netherlands. The name changed and developed over several hundred years from DeZeeuw, to Lossee, Loosje, Losey and then to Locey. The changes were in part due to the Dutch system of naming. Hope this helps. Judy

Researchers, I mentioned a few months ago how you can get FREE Census Images online through Heritage Quest. Heritage Quest is available through public institutions, such as, libraries. I am card holding member of the Columbus Library and I can access these records. You may want to check with your library or a major library near your city for this FREE search. I'm sure you can email the Columbus Public Library and obtain a card or a card number if you don't have an institution that allows this. I am bringing this up again because Ancestry DOES NOT have a search for the 1900 Census and Heritage Quest does. As you probably know there is a searchable 1880 Census in a few genealogical sites. The 1890 Census was burnt. If you have Ancestry the next SEARCHABLE census is 1910. That is a 30 year gap which has a lot of names, children, etc. Also Heritage Quest has searches for Books and PERSI that of genealogical interest. Boyd Researchers, I just finished uploading the last of Ward 3-Ashland for the 1900 Census. Judy has been working on this quite hard through the summer and sent me the last 3 parts this week. This Ward is quite large and has 5 parts to it. Thanks to Judy and her efforts. You can check this out under the Census: http://www.rootsweb.com/~kyboyd/Census/census.htm ------------- Also, the picture that I wanted information on had one email that suggested that it might be a Civil War Veteran Picture. If any of you had Civil War Veterans from the Boyd Area, please look at the picture closely and see if your recognize anyone. I know someone will can tell me at least someone. http://www.rootsweb.com/~kyboyd/Photographs/WhosWho/Who.htm and/or http://www.rootsweb.com/~kyboyd/Photographs/Family/KP01.JPG Have a great day, Mark __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Boyd Researchers, I am going to make you an offer, that I sort of keep under the wraps. I usually do not respond to queries sent to the Boyd Listserve unless they are emailed to me directly. If you have made a query to the Boyd Email Listserve and DID NOT get the response you were looking for, email me and give me a shot at it. No guarentees, but I would like to give it a shot. The key is to ASK THE LISTSERVE FIRST. If you made a query longer than 3 months ago or longer, that does not count. I would like to generate queries and I think this may spurse up things a bit. We have around 175 Boyd researchers. Give them a shot, THEN ME. The key is to be patient, and give as much information that you know to find what you are looking for. I will keep it in my que until I have responded. I can help especially with Census Information, Births- Deaths after 1911. Send out those queries! ===== Hope you find what you are looking for :) ^ ^ . . I actually just got her obit. last week from the Marion library, along with a newspaper story in 1926 about her husband Denny. He evidentally murdured Ida's lover and got off. I got the main story dated Aug. 20, 1926, but nothing about the trial. If, you are a peruser and would like to look for that, I'd love it. The Marion library sent me the other stuff, but I didn't want to pester them for more. I also ordered a copy of Denny's death certificate, in the hopes that it has listed his parent's names. I am interested in finding out their country of origin as I know from Ida's birth record is that she originally came from KY. I lived in Marion as a child, then we moved to Upper Sandusky. I currently live in NC so research is more difficult. Thanks! -Cory

Boyd Researchers, I recently purchased an Old Picture of about 75-100 Men of Boyd County. I have the picture on the website for you to view. I am hoping that someone can tell me anything about the picture. I can tell you that it is an early 1900's Picture taken at the J.W. Schmidt Photographer on 110 Grenup Ave-Ashland, Kentucky. The person who sent it too me did a poor job and it was bent in several places by the time I got it. I have several scans on the picture, a full larger one, full larger left and a full large right. I will be glad to email you a copy to look closer at the faces. You can see this picture at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~kyboyd/Photographs/Family/KP01.JPG Also, I Revamped the Family Photograph Section so that I could upload the pictures a little easier. http://www.rootsweb.com/~kyboyd/Photographs/Family/familyindex.htm Have a great week! ===== Hope you find what you are looking for :) ^ ^ . .
