    1. Looking for a Cemetery
    2. Hi List..... I am searching for a Barnnett Cemetery in Catlettsburg. I have found it listed in the Boyd Co. Library site and the names of the people buried there are definitely the ones I am looking for. The problem is I can't seem to locate the cemetery itself. It is supossed to be on Catlett's Ck, Rt 168 . I have found a cemetery in that area but it is the Barrett Cemetery and no Barnetts are there. My question is this- does anyone know of any other cemeteries in that area that may be my Barnett Cemetery? If so could you please send me directions on how to get to it. I am familiar with the area and have been there several times looking for this cemetery. Thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to help. Martha

    2. F. K Brown
    3. This sounds like it might be a sister to your William...Maybe it will give you some leads on your family. (this is from books on Lawrence County Ohio) Mary Boyd Earl The Ironton Register dated Sept. 6, 1906 reports the death of Mary "Polly" Boyd Earl who at that time , was probably Lawrence County OHIO's oldest resident. She died Aug 29, 1906 on North Second St in Ironton at the home of her son Jesse Earl Jr (Pete). Se was born Oct 1, 1803 and was 102 years, 10 months & 27 years of age. In VA, possibly Patrick County where she married James Earl on June 5, 1832. Mary was the daughter of William and Nancy Boyd. IN 1835 the Earl family with two young children moved to Floyd County, KY where they lived for 16 years. They then came down the Big Sandy River by flatboat in 1851 and settled near Ceredo in Wayne Co. VA/WV. During the Civil War, Earl made the trip back to his home in old VA. He was never heard from after that and his fate has never been discovered. Mary was the mother of 3 daughters, (1) Susan who married James Adams, (2) Elizabeth who married William Dillon and (3) Harriett who married Deck Ward. 7 sons (1) David (2) John Shannon (3) William (4) Jesse Jr (Pete) (5) James (6) Daniel (7) Harrison At least 4 of the sons served in the War between the States. several of the children lived in Ironton and their descendants are still in the area. Mary is buried in the Ward-Earl Cemetery in Wayne County WV. _______________________________________ Also found this tidbit: May Neal born Aug 1870 in Lawrence County, Ohio--married in Lawrence County KY, Dec 16 1886 at age 16 to William Boyd who was 18 at time of marriage. He was born March 1868. As of the 1900 census they had 6 children with 5 still living: Ernest Boyd born March 1890 Naaman Boyd born Dec. 1891 Carma Boyd born April 1895 Graden Boyd born March 1898 Hiram Boyde born Oct 1899 In 1908 the family had Oakview KY as their address. 1. Kentucky Death Certificate CD
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XAB.2ACI/2425 Message Board Post: I have finally gotten around to making My Kentucky Death Certificate CD number Two. Here are the rules and the changes for contributing and obtaining a CD. 1. you MUST submit atleast 5 death certificates to the project. I would prefer the Death Certificates to be hard copies mailed to me at my home address. The reason I am requesting hard copies is that I would like to donate them to the library here in town. However, if it isn't possible I know some people have them on their computer and not a hard copy. Then they must be sent to me as a JPEG and I HAVE TO know in ADVANCE before you send them so my inbox doesn't become over loaded. 2. The Death Certificate MUST have a Kentucky connection. 3. It was requested last time that there be some contact information on the Death Certificate. This is to difficult for me to do or to time consuming, but if you want to hand write your e-mail address on the Death Certificate this would be a great way to pass along the information in case someone sees a connection. 4. The price has gone up. Last time it actually cost me money to make the CD so this time the cost is $3.00 per CD. Yes, you can order more than one CD but remember there is a minimum of 5 Death Certificates per CD. The reason for the minimum is that I want to fill up the CD to make it more useful for all. Right now I have approximately 1,000 death certificates and the CD will hold about 2,000. The last CD contained 1,940 Death certificates. 5. Checks and DC's Can be mailed to me at Cassy Sommers 1407 Woodwind Ct Corbin, Kentucky 40701 6. There will be no exceptions this time the CD will go out by January 15th with or without the 2,000 DC's if we get that many before the 15th it will go out sooner. Hope all will join in and please feel free to pass this message around to anyone who has a Kentucky connection. Cassy. PS visit me at Tombstone Central
