Is anyone familiar with this family. They were married around 1880 or so. Cornelius died before 1900. Does anyone know of their siblings? They had two children, Harry Zeek, and a Goldie born early in the 1880's. Does anyone know who Goldie married? Thanks for any insight, Mark __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! By the time you get this you will probably wonder why you didn't get any email for a few days. The Rootsweb email server went down Saturday or Sunday. In the future if you wonder what's going on you can always go to: http://www.rootsweb.com/ Pick the HELP button on the upper right. They post messages there on that status of things. Boyd Researchers, For those who have HI-SPEED INTERNET OR DSL, I have Computer MPG version of the History of Boyd County for Downloading. SORRY PHONE MODEM USERS CANNOT DO THIS, YOU'VE BEEN WARNED. http://www.rootsweb.com/~kyboyd/general/Video-History/ Go for a video download, probably will be about 15 plus minutes for a guess. There are two parts to download. Then view it with Windows Media Player, Real Player, or some MPG Player that you may have. Yes there is a 30-45 second gap in the beginning, I can't fix it. DO NOT TRY AND VIEW AT THE SITE. I find that it does not show the complete part on any case. I do not know why at this time. You can also download a two part Higher quality Audio for your use at the sight, versus the 8 Part at the other site. I assume you know how to download. Right click on the mouse over the object and Save Target to your computer, right. This will be temporary and probably deleted in the next few weeks. --------------- Hey, I'm trying several things. I can offer right now a CD mpg version to be sent to you, specifically phone modem users. I cannot sell this to make a profit, and I don't want to make a profit, I just want everyone to have a copy that wants one. If you send $1, to me, I will send a copy to you. It is playable on most computers, and again you need Windows Media Player, Real Player, something that plays a MPG file. You can get these for FREE off the internet. If you wait a day or two I may be able to offer a DVD version of the History for $2, but I'm still working on it. I will let you know by weeks end, probably Wednesday. -------------- By the way I have offered this in the past, not in DVD, but VHS and not one of you took me up on it. I felt this was such a great thing I had to get it out again. Questions? Mark Meinhart 4400 Big Walnutview Drive Gahanna, OH 43230-4143 ===== Hope you find what you are looking for - SMiLE :) ^ ^ . . Love the audio on Boyd County!!!! Thank you so much for bringing it to us.... Just wondering if this is available on CD or cassette so that we can buy a copy. Thanks again for making us realize the wonderful "past" history and the folks who helped to build/make Boyd County.
If you are a descendant of Giles (Jiles) Green and his wife Nancy (also known as Catherine) Chandler who came to Lawrence County, Kentucky by 1825 and died in Johnson County, please contact me and tell me how you descend. I am trying to assemble a list of descendants. I would also be most happy to compare notes with you! This note is going to the lists that are in the area. If you are on more than one (like me), you may receive several of these requests. I apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause. Thanks for any help you can give me. Frankie Perry

The majority of Phone Modem users have told me it is quite faster on Documents-PH. Now that I have a solution, I will make the changes. Unfortunately it will take a while, since there are around 1,000 pictures on this website. There is no quick way of fixing it, but it will be done. I will inform you when I have it completely done. You may notice the changes in some of the areas in the next few weeks. Thanks to those who gave me their input. That's it for the day. Have a great weekend, Mark __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail - 250MB free storage. Do more. Manage less. http://info.mail.yahoo.com/mail_250
I have been able to upload the History of Boyd County in Audio Version at this time. You can find it in the General Section of the Boyd County Website at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~kyboyd/ and/or http://www.rootsweb.com/~kyboyd/general/general.htm I have it in 8 parts so that Phone Modem Users can listen to it without too much difficulty. Internet/DSL users should have no problems. Remember to hit the BACK BUTTON on your computer when done with each part. I do have a warning that it will take several minutes if you are a phone modem user. Each part is about 6-8 minutes for a total of about 55 minutes. Hi, Mark, There is no difference in the speed of loading of the two sites. Thanks for your good work. Marion (Dan) Daniels. Gilroy, CA. --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Search presents - Jib Jab's 'Second Term'
Mark, The Documents2 or PH was much, much faster, loading in less than a minute. The other one took well over five minutes to load. I use a phone modem, as DSL, etc. is unavailable where I am. Thank you for your efforts to make the page work better. Frankie
Boyd Researchers, I believe I received one honest answer and I don't think there was any difference between Documents and Document-PH. I tried it on my home computer which is 2-3 times faster than a phone but not full internet and it was slow. I saw what it was doing and I think the changes I made overnight will make a difference. So Now Try Again, please. Use a second hand to your watch and only load the Index Page to each. Documents http://www.rootsweb.com/~kyboyd/Photographs/Documents/documents.htm and then try Documents-PH http://www.rootsweb.com/~kyboyd/Photographs/Documents2/documents.htm Phone Modem Users, only, Mark __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? I am particularly interested in Isham (born about 1792 in VA; died before 1860) and his wife Christina Hounshell Brown (born 1796 in VA and died before 1880 in Boyd County). Known children are: Isham Jr, Levisa (married Wilcox), Peter--possibly John and Louisa. They are in land records in Boyd County in 1850s and appear in first census in 1860 in Catlettsburg, Boyd County. I do not live in Boyd County area so can not check microfilm records etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanking you in advance.
