Any citations would be very welcome. Have you seen Lyle Brown's page? http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~rlylebrown/ I am trying to connect Low Brown Sr to James Brown Sr. Might they be brothers or cousins? According to both their pension applications, Low served with my 4G grandfather William McGuire for Capt. James Moore as Indian spies for several years during the RW. William's brother Joseph married Elizabeth Brown, daughter of James and Esther (Goff) Brown. All these folks were in Montgomery/Tazewell/Russell VA and Big Sandy KY area. Thanks for any insights! Joe

I finally have a dedicated computer room and I'm in the process of re-arranging it around. I will be starting on Boyd County H.S. next week, from the year of 1965, and be doing all the grades, not just the Seniors. I will be donating this book the the Boyd County Library soon. If you want a lookup from me, do it when I post it please. -------------------------------- I also have added the 1937 Senior Class Index to the Boyd Cty Webpage. Also, added this week was an Index to a book, Eastern Kentucky References. It is not searchable, so you will have to view each page of the Index for names. Pay attention to what is posted. Boyd County is on the first 36 Pages and at the end is Catlettsburg Newspaper references. I have a general question. Most scanners can handle 8 1/2 x 11 documents, some yearbooks and larger books are just a little bit bigger, like 9 x 12. How can I scan the whole page? Has anyone bought a scanner that can handle larger documents, even up to 11x17? Thanks for the help, Mark __________________________________ Celebrate Yahoo!'s 10th Birthday! Yahoo! Last Spring I was in Ashland, KY for some family matters. I had enough time to go to the local museum there, Highlands Museum, that I was told about. I went there not to find anything specific, but to see what they had. On a wall they had a display of pictures, over 100 pictures easily. I looked at them to see what they were about. Right in the middle of them was my g-grandparents wedding picture from the 1880's. Yea, you know I flipped out. I went to the attendant and asked if I could get a good copy of the picture or scan. The answer was no. I tried to take a picture through the glass, etc without much success. Most of you know me and I'm not one to give up. I emailed several times through the summer and finally got a response from someone that said come January 2005, contact us and we'll get you a copy, when they remove the pictures from the display. I started emailing in December and emailed several times again. About two weeks ago, I got an email saying they would send the picture to me to keep. I received that picture Friday, about 9 or 10 months after I found it. Lesson learn, keep your eyes open, go to the museum, library, etc and check those pictures. Also, EBAY, has turned over pictures, letters, etc. through the years. You should be checking weekly for family items. They do have a Favorite search and you can set it up to check for your family items. You never know what you may find. Great start for the year, Mark __________________________________ Celebrate Yahoo!'s 10th Birthday! Yahoo! Netrospective: 100 Moments of the Web http://birthday.yahoo.com/netrospective/

When i looked at Building #2--ca 1953, it looked like the Second National Bank Bldg. in the picture above. It may be a picture after the Second National Bank moved from this building to the big Bank building on Winchester and it has been left abandon for a couple of years. Just a thought, Bax McClure
In the Ashland - Business building section. Building #2 ca 1953 Can anyone read the printing on two of the bottom floor windows? It seems I should recognize this building but so far no luck. Bill Horne
