I am trying to find when William Marshall (b. 1803/1804)died and where he is buried. He is listed on the 1880 Boyd Census in the home of his son, Dr. William Jefferson Marshall. William was the widower of Nancy Ward and I believe he died in the 1880 - 1888 timeframe. Further, if anyone has additional information on this family, I would be most grateful! Many thanks!

Boyd Researchers, I have a new item on the Webpage called, "Submit an Obit" What I did was modified the program for the Family Group Sheet to spit out an obituary program. It is is not hard to use. The worst part about the program is how to separate a paragraph. You must type <BR> between paragraphs. 2-<BR><BR>, will add a space between the paragraphs. In html terms, this means to go to the next line or a return. Honestly, it's the only html term I know :) You will be typing in a straight continous line. I have given up on trying to make it look like a form. Like I said I don't know html and this is the best I can do and it does work well really. Listmembers, In 2002, The Daily Independent, put out a photo album called, "Looking Back-An Historic Photo Album" It costs around $40 at that time. I've seen it on EBAY twice the last 1/2 year or so. I've contacted the Ashland Independent to see if it can still be bought, but got no response. According to Teresa Klaiber she heard that they may be doing a reprint on it. It has over 100 pages of photos containing 1 to 4 photos per page. It is is a hardback book and all the photos are black and white. The book is 11"w x 8 1/2"h. If one of the picture rings a bell, contact me, and I will scan it for you and send it out accordingly. I'll post a few pages a day for the next month. The good news is that Jim Powers from Ashland donated a few of the pictures in the book. He has consented to me that I can scan his pictures and post them. I have scanned them at this time but have yet to post any, FYI. I will start posting the information from the pictures starting next week. I will do about 5 pages a day until I get through the book. Hi! I'm new to this list. I am researching Benjamin and Elizabeth Griffith that moved to Kentucky around 1853. Elizabeth is Benjamin's second wife. They appear in the 1860 census in Greenup County, and in the 1870 census in Boyd County. Benjamin died in 1874. In 1880, Elizabeth, a widow, is back in Greenup County. In 1900, she is living with her married daughter, Ella Williams, in Scioto County, Ohio. Benjamin and Elizabeth had the following children living with them (from both wives): David, John, Elizabeth, George, Ruth Charity, Jane, Emma, Naomi, Thomas, Calvin, Ella, Franklin, and Nora, Cora, and Dora (triplets). I'm wondering if there is anyone else on this list researching this family. I have loads of information on the Griffith family. I would like to know when a newspaper was first going in Boyd County. I'm guessing that there could have been a birth announcement or a newspaper article about these triplets born in 1870. That would be pretty big news. Unfortunately, they all died before they were 8 months old. I would also like to know if there are any Boyd County resources that would mention these Griffiths. I do know that Benjamin and Elizabeth and the triplets are buried in Ashland Cemetery. Thanks so very much for any help! - Jean Griesan
