Hello! I found some research recently about the Griffith family that I've been researching. It says that Elizabeth Griffith, daughter of Benjamin and Prudence (Lanthorn) Griffith, born about 1842 in Ohio, married William Bobbitt. I find a listing for a William and Elizabeth Bobbitt in the Ashland Cemetery. Everything matches up pretty well, but I can't find any listing for a marriage for the two of them. I'm guessing, based on the census and the date of birth of their first child, that they married about 1861. Are there any resources that have Boyd County marriages listed? It's possible that they were in Greenup County too. Thanks for any help. - Jean Griesan

Her last name started with an "F" I think, but I can't remember it at the moment. When I knew America Holbrook, she lived in Ashland on Newman Street. Her niece's married name was Fearing, but I don't remember her first name. Her husband's name was Tom (Thomas?), but I'm not sure if that was his first or middle name. He was the manager of the Henry Clay Hotel for a while in the 1960's. He became the first manager of the South Point Ohio Holiday Inn. He and his family moved around as he worked for a number of hotel chains including Hilton and Sheraton.
