WRIGHT Wright, Moore, Batsell, Wallace, Davis, Peterson 11506 Kentucky Genealogy and Biography Volume V Battle Perrin Kniffin, 4th ed., 1886. (Marion Co). RICHARD W. WRIGHT was born November 5, 1862, and is a son of Richard W. and Angeline E. (Moore) Wright, to whom four sons and one daughter were born, and who were natives of Washington County. R. W. Wright, Sr., was a leading and substantial farmer and slave owner, served as magistrate several years, and had quite a reputation also as administrator of estates, in which he was engaged until, in 1881, he moved to northeast Missouri. He was a son of Charles M. and Matilda (Batsell) Wright, who were born and reared in Virginia, and came to Washington County, Ky., about 1809. They were members of the Baptist Church and of Irish origin. Mrs. Angelina E. Wright is a daughter of John Moore, who married a Miss Wallace, both natives of Virginia, who came to Kentucky about 1809; they were of Irish descent and were of the Baptist faith. Richard W. Wright was born in Washington County, and was reared on a farm and educated at Lebanon and Buffalo. When he arrived at maturity he commenced life as a salesman at Loretto with Davis and Peterson. Early in 1884 he united in business with Davis in general merchandising, and in November, 1884, became sole proprietor of the establishment. Mr. Wright, by his good business qualifications and energy, has made life a success. In politics he is a Democrat.
