BA Wilson adopted his step-father's surname, and Isaac kept his father's Wilson name. In early to mid 1800's Bell Co land records, his name is recorded as BA Wilson, Benjamin Wilson, and Benjamin A Wilson. There's no theory to disprove about him actually being a Wilson. A family of Wilsons lived on the right fork of Straight Creek where BA Wilson Rice lived at Locke / Kettle Island. They have carried the Sanders name into present generations. In fact Dr Edward Sanders Wilson, Sr told a story to his children when they went by the Irish cemetery in Tazewell that goes something like, "There lies old Uncle Ben Rice, married three times and none of his wives would be buried beside him."
