The Pineville Sun Dated Thursday, January 12, 1961 Front Page Headline- Gillingham is Given 4-year Contract as School Superintendent George Gillingham, who has worked for the City School system 17 years, was granted a 4-year contract by the City School Board last Thursday night. Mr. Gillingham said, "I am very happy and proud. I am pleased with my work." Included in the contract was a $200 raise and two years longer than the present contract. Gillingham salary will be $8,400. In other action, Richard Golden was re-elected Chairman of the School Board, and Elmer V. Bush was elected vice-chairman, the job that Marietta Lewis had.
