The Pineville Sun. Dated July 4, 1968: "Pineville- Mrs. Tempa Noe Slusher, 80, died Wednesday, June 26 at Pineville Community Hospital after a brief illness. She was a native of Harlan County and daughter of the late Benjamin and Mollie Lockhart Noe. Mrs. Slusher was the wife of the late Abraham B. Slusher. She was a Baptist and had lived in Bell County for 40 years. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ora Mae Stephens, Pineville; two sons, Walter Slusher, Norton, VA., and Roy Slusher, Covington; nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, June 29 at the Arnett Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Bill Bailey officiating. Burial was in Slusher Cemetery at Calvin. Grandsons served as pallbearers.
