The Pineville Sun. Dated February 25, 1973: "George W. Hendrickson passed away at the Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital, Friday, March 2, 1973, at the age of 80. He was born March 6, 1892, to the late Jack and Sarah Hendrickson of Bell County, Kentucky. Survivors include his wife, Bertha Hendrickson of Kettle Island; four daughters, Virgie West, Rochester, PA., Verna Berline, East Palestine, OH., Lilly Elliott, Indianapolis, IN., Ester Helton, Middlesboro; four sons, Paul Hendrickson, Independence, KY., Homer Hendrickson, Indianapolis, IN., Daniel Hendrickson, Indianapolis, Marion Hendrickson, Martinsville, IN; one sister, Lula Sutton, St. Creek, KY., and one half sister, Rosa Hendrickson, Cincinnati, OH; 24 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Monday, March 5, at 12:00 p.m. with the Rev. Thea O. Carter officiating, at the Durham Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was the family cemetery at Stoney Fork.
