    1. [KYBELL] Bell Co Thanksgiving Project/Please read

    3. Hello Cousins and Bell County researchers, I would like to start a project for Thanksgiving this year. Please read on and chip in. To participate you don't have to be in Bell County or have ever lived there at all. We are all bound together by the fact that our families lived in this little corner of Kentucky and they shared community, tradition, family and friends. Most importantly our ancestors were pioneers who did the best they could with what little they had and they did a fine job too. We can do that now even though we are living all over the world. These Bell County web site pages will be here long after we have passed and I think it would be exciting for our grandchildren, great grandchildren and so on to see our traditions, photo's and read our memories of our own Thanksgiving's. We are in the habit of researching our own pasts but sometimes forget that we should be preserving our current "histories" for the future. Birth, Death and Marriage records are informative but wouldn't you love to see what a Thanksgiving dinner was like with our ancestors? Our future generations will be able to do that! with this project. For this project I would like to make a "Descendants of Bell County Families Thanksgiving 2002" section and place our holiday recipes, family pictures, Thanksgiving memories or family traditions. In my home it is a tradition to make a huge dinner and usually it is the same dinner every year with the family pouring in all day to visit and eat. I think it's probably that way at your house too. If not maybe you join your family in someone else's home. Either way you can share. If you only have one recipe, that's ok we would love to include it. If you would like to email me with your Thanksgiving traditions, photo's or memories we will be thrilled to include those too. Please help us by joining in on this project. I will be posting my own Thanksgiving photo's and recipes and hope you will too. If your a man and you don't usually do the cooking maybe you can ask your wife to share with us. Maybe you could type an email telling us about your Mother's Thanksgiving dinners or your Grandmother's. Maybe you remember Daddy or Grand Daddy preparing the turkey on the farm? Most importantly, let's all chip in and make memories for the future. I will be sharing a copy of the new book "Images of Bell County Kentucky" with the most generous submitter's in this Thanksgiving project. Thank you& May God Bless you all this family season, Kelly & Barb [email protected] Census Lookup Mailing Lists Est. Oct 2000 - Kelly Courtney-Blizzard http://www.rootsweb.com/~censlook/
