    3. I can't hide my disappointment that Charlotte Miller wasn't named list administrator. She has experience in list administration, strong Bell County ties, has contributed to the list over a long period of time, has a deep love for the area, and a great deal of knowledge due to researching her ancestors who settled in the Bell Co area in the early 1800's. Also, she wanted the list and let Andrew know that when he first started calling for Kelly to respond. It seems that what list members want is being ignored, and in some cases, the focus of lists is being changed, which is against Rootsweb's rules; in fact, that's what happened on the Clay Co list. From what Lorraine has said, she's not going to let the focus of our group change. For that, we can be thankful, and we'll hold her to that, for we were absolutely abandoned for many months. For instance, we, as list members, have told other members how to unsubscribe due to having no list administrator to fulfill that responsibility. Not once that I heard, did anyone ever complain. A member always quietly stepped in to explain how to go about unsubscribing. There has been no instance of flaming, ugliness toward other members, etc. We're not that kind of list, and we expect to be treated the same, for we are close-knit and friendly. We welcome you, Lorraine, to the list we've been running for quite a while and hope that you have lots of ideas to help generate some stimulating conversation relating to genealogy and the history of Bell Co. I'm currently the director of the Bell Co Historical Society Museum and corresponding secretary of the Bell Co Historical Society. Last week, Rutha Jackson and I spent the day w/ Dr Thomas Clark, 102 year old KY state historian; Hal Rogers, congressman; and Jerry Browning, president of the Bell Co Historical Society to discuss making the Cumberland Ford, located in the Narrows in Pineville, a state tourist site. We already have an overlook and a marker built on Poff Hill at Wasioto. Next, we need to purchase the land where the actual ford exists. Our ultimate goal is to connect the overlook via a walkway. The Cumberland Ford is where the Indians, Dr Thos Walker, Daniel Boone, and all the early explorers crossed the Cumberland River when traversing the Wilderness Road. If a certain rock was uncovered by water, they knew it was safe to cross. If you support this idea, and would be interested in sending a short note to Hal Rogers, it would help us a great deal!
