    1. DID YOU KNOW WE HAVE BEEN ABANDONED??
    2. Hello, For quite some time now, the Bell Co. Mail List has just been rolling along on its own. The former person in this capacity for Bell Co. has disappeared. Mr. Andrew Billinghurst (head of the mailing lists for Rootsweb) has sent out notifications and soon a person will be chosen. I have seen first hand how the selection of a non-involved, non-connected County Coordinator can absolutely ruin a Mail List. I really don't want to see that happen to Bell County's Mail List. You probably have also seen what can happen. I would personally like to nominate CHARLOTTE ANN MILLER for this VACANT position. There are a number of reasons why. l. She wants the position. 2. She is related to a good number of Bell County surnames and she is an active participant in discussions on the Mail List. 3. She continually makes contributions to the Mail List with some examples following: submission of Bell County death records, birth records, marriage records, Obituaries, funeral home records, etc. etc. She is an overall pleasant and caring individual who loves family history and is always willing to help where needed. My plan is to write a personal note to Mr. Andrew BILLINGHURST at: billingh@rootsweb.com. I plan to tell him the selection of CHARLOTTE ANN MILLER would be an excellent choice. If you agree with me, please take a few moments and let him know you also would like Charlotte Ann MILLER to head up the Bell Co. Mail List. Thank you. Joyce Taylor Collins La Palma, CA

    3. All she has to do is send Andrew B. an email requesting the list if the current listminder doesn't show up. It's up to him to decide who gets what...he's usually pretty cool about it. 3. Joyce, and everyone... I would like to let you know you have NOT been abandoned. I applied for the Admin position of this mailing list back in January, and again when the second notice was sent through. I was one of the folks that begged for the Clay county mail list to go back to it's original ways. I am also in the process of building a New Bell county AHGP site. I have NO intentions of changing anything on this list. This list will continue as it has in the past. I am working on my husband's family ties in Kentucky, and the stories and tales that go through these lists are the only way I can get any ideas as to how things were and how things are now. There are only a couple of things I will not tolerate on a mail list, and they have never even been thought of here, so I'm not going to mention them. :-) We're all grown, we all love the southeastern Kentucky areas, and we all love the genealogy and *everything* that goes along with it. I hope we can work together to make this the best list in the SEKY area!!! <grin> And, if you would like to contact me with items for the new Bell site, I won't complain!!! Keep warm, enjoy the evening... Lorraine Sonnenberg Newsome Bell Co. Mail List Admin
