His marriage is listed as 1877 as well to Susan Elizabeth Scalf of flat lick as well. Nelson's father was Edmund Gray born in Greenville, S.c. in 1822..i would love to know more about him if anyone out there knows anything!!!! he is listed as dying at Camp Nelson and I don't know anything about that as well! would love to talk to any Grays out there! Edmund was married to Rebecca Powell who was born in Whitley County in 1819. I dont' know where i got that record however so not sure. hope this helps clear up about Nelson Gray...i know there were several nelson grays in flat lick related to each other living at the same time. ps,. are there any scalfs out there! i am a novice scalf researcher!!
