    1. Kentucky State Penitentiary
    2. Tipton Barnett, son of James and Sarah of Bell Co., Yellow Creek, is showing up on the 1900 Census for the State Pen. I googled for records of the Penitentiary but couldn't find anything. Anyone know if they have a website for old records? Also, anyone know why he was put in prison? I can't find him after the 1900 census. Was he executed? Thanks,

    3. One source of information for your Tipton Barnett's imprisonment might be the Middlesboro paper and/or the Pineville paper. Check the microfilmed copies for old articles regarding the case.
