Betty Sutton-Rodey, David and Dicey Brock Johnson are my ggg grandparents. Their son James Johnson, married Nancy Brock, daughter of Ephraim and Nancy Shepherd Brock in Harlan Co., KY - 1867. James and Nancy Brock Johnson had son Edward J Johnson, born in Bell Co., KY - 29 Apr 1880. In 1904, Garrard Co., KY, Edward married Ida Bell Parker, daughter of Edmon and Lucy F. Hubbard Parker. Their daughter, Goldie Mae Johnson, born 1911, is my grandmother. She married Jerome Hamblin, of Scott Co., TN, in Dec 1928. The sources for my information are Bible records, Civil War records, U.S. Federal Census records, and family members with personal knowledge of some of the individuals mentioned. DAVID JOHNSON was born Abt. 1812 in Kentucky or Tennessee, and died June 30, 1894 in Bell County, Kentucky. He married DICEY BROCK December 19, 1835 in Harlan County, Kentucky.
