They were a huge landowner company.based in ENGLAND.they leased land to coal mines.and from what i heard,they gave most of the land the CUMBERLAND GAP PARK is to the gov. also they owned or did what is known as TACKETT CREEK WILDLIFE PRESERVE.a mr DOCK LOVEDAY was a manager of some kind for many yrs.he lived in CUMBERLAND GAP.in the oldest house there. i'll try find more info.don't want to put my foot in my mouth! it tastes funny last time.
