    1. Re: [KYBELL] CARROLL - CLAPP
    2. Joyce, Hi! Thanks for responding. OK, the only info I have is that Thomas was born in Middleboro in 1865. He married Elizabeth Ann Gibbs who was from Clairborne Tenessee. Their 1st born, Dorcus Victoria b 25 Aug 1893 (My husband's maternal grandmother) was born in Knox County Tennessee. Yes, I was aware that Bell County was not formed till 1867 or so. I've just started on this branch of the family and found Middlesboro currently in Bell County. I haven't checked anywhere yet to find out which county Middlesboro was in in 1865. Do you know? I really don't know where Thomas's parents were from, or where they were in 1870, just that the info I have is that Thomas was born in Middleboro in 1865. I did not find them in the 1870 or 1880 census in Kentucky. I was hoping that someone might have some info on his parents, William CARROLL and Lillian CLAPP, since it appears they were in Middlesboro in 1865! I'm going to try and get to the Naitonal Archives next week and will check the Tennessee census. Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks again for responding!! Pat Do you have any other suggestions? Pat in Colorado. > RESPONSE: > Thomas CARROLL would not have been born in Bell Co. at Middlesboro in 1865 > because the county was not created until 1867 with the 1870 being their > first Fed.
