    3. RESPONSE: From what I have read, Mr. Arthur who was instrumental in the development of the town of Middlesboro did not begin until in the 1880's late. So, it is most confusing. My impression is that there was no Middleboro in 1865. It is early on referred to as being located in what was the Yellow Creek Valley along the 18th century Wilderness Road (today's US 25E in southeastern KY. It lies south of Pineville, the county seat. I also checked marriages in the general time frame of 1892 for Claiborne co., TN and did not find the marriage there. It will be interesting to know where you do finally locate them. Joyce C. I haven't checked anywhere yet to find out which county Middlesboro was in in 1865. <
