Looking for the parents of Sylvania Napier b. 1885, married to David Franklin Lee. Her father could be a John NAPIER. Any help is appericated. She is my ggrandma. I have Sylvania as the daughter of John Morgan Napier and Elizabeth Jane Garrett. 1900 Bell Co., KY census, district 12, hh 271: John Napier 25, wife Rosa 20, daughter Dora 11 months, and mother in law Nancy Garrett 60. There was not a John Napier and Elizabeth Garrett family found. Wonder if this John (spouse of Rosa) is also a son of John and Elizabeth? Mary Thanks! this could very well be. Every one back then named their children after some one in the family. My Grandma Lovey Jane Lee had a son named John, ger name being Jane in it must of come from her grandma Elizabeth Jane Lee. Her brother John? Do you suppose thats how people kept track of what tribe they were of. What outfit thay belonged to. Do you know if Sylvania was born in Harlan Co. or Bell Co.? I can`t find her death date eather. I understand she died in a mental hospital. Could of been the change of life back then or maby He cheating husband pushed her to far. After having a boy murdered and a husband running off with another woman, then dying. She needed a good break down, don`t you think? Well this is a sensetive subject to me. He use to tell me how he was kin to grandmas mother (Sylvania) and how we was kin to Garretts, Wish I had listened better Well my whole point is I assumed his name to Joseph maby its John too, short Jo. Do you know the dated for John and Rosa Napier. Joes birthday was Jo Napier b. May 05, 1919 d.June 1987 in Hrlan hit by a car.
