Hi Mary, Idres Brock, 2nd wife of James Johnson (son of David/Dicey) was not the sister of James' first wife, Nancy Brock (dau of Ephraim/Nancy Shepherd). Idres was born in 1892. She was 17 when James Johnson married her in 1909. He was 65 yrs old when they married and they did have 5 children together. Many thanks to everyone who helped me "un-confuse my confusion" My biggest mistake was not adding sources with each name I entered. When I went back to enter sources I must have been really tired because I had a 1823 source for someone born in 1882. The more "I fixed" the worse it got. I am researching The descendants of Aaron Brock (Chief Red Bird of the Cherokee). Aaron Brock (historically) was in North East Tennessee, South East Kentucky and Virginia, NC ( boundary changes) ? I have much conflicting information. Were there 2 Chief Red Birds? He is connected to the Johnson, Sizemore Families. Would like to compare notes. The line I am following is DICEY BROCK married David Johnson in 1835. Bette Sutton Rodey __________ Home Pages http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/r/o/d/Bette-J-Rodey/

-------Original Message------- From: Donald Sizemore Date: Saturday, August 24, 2002 12:11:00 To: dorthy lingar Subject: Elhannon Sizemore Dorthy, I have look over the information I have on Elhannon Sizemore and am still working on that line of Sizemores. Some of it is confusing, I know what Joyce Collins means. Here's what I have briefly, leaving out a lot of details.: Elhannon Sizemore born June 1856 at Bright Shade, Ky. He died June 1938, age 82. He was the son of Willis Combs Sizemore and Nancy Murphy Sizemore. Elhannon married the first time to Nancy C. Mattingly born Dec. 17, 1858 Clay Co. Ky. the daughter of Jesse Mattingly born Mar. 24, 1833 died Oct. 2, 1894 and Mary Asher Mattingly born Sept. 30, 1832. Elhannon divorced Nancy C. Mattingly. He then had an affair with Lucy Howard and fathered her son Wilse or Wilson Howard. Then Elhannon married Mary Ann Taylor b. ? , died 1895. Mary Ann was the daughter of Alexander Taylor b. 1838 and Amelia Hubbard. See Descendants of Jesse Mattingly at FamilyTreeMaker.com Dorthy, I hope this information will help. O, BY THE WAY, My oldest brother is named Robert Elhannon Sizemore. Why my parents named him Elhannon, I don't know. Maybe, I should ask him. Ask Joyce, does she know for sure who the parents of Willis Sizemore were. Somewhere on the internet, I ran across it, that it was believed that HE WAS THE SON of Rhoda Sizemore and a Combs man. If that is true, there is a lot of genealogy on Rhoda Sizemore. Well, I've got to close, so keep me informed on this line of Sizemores, Because I was always interested in this line, though not necessaryly my line Don Spirit Hawk Sizemore

Mary Harris, Bette Rodey and Robin Woolum, I am Becky Hamblin of the Johnson/Brock lineage chart mentioned below. James Johnson and Nancy Brock are my gg grandparents. James Johnson was born 15 Mar 1844 in Harlan Co., KY. and Nancy Brock was born Dec 1848 or 1849, I believe in Clay Co. Their son Edward is my great grandfather. He was born 29 April 1880, according to Bible records. His wife Ida Bell Parker was born 10 Jan 1886 in Laurel Co., KY. Larry Johnson and I corresponded while he was putting his Johnson book together and in August 1990 I received a hand typed copy from him. It is one my greatest treasures. Never have I seen a more thoroughly documented book and Larry is to be well commended for his tenacious pursuit for the details of David Johnson's life. I recommend it heartily. Bette, I'm interested in how you connect to David Johnson and would like to add you to my family. Which of his children do you descend from? Let me know if I can help further.
