Hi Peg, You are descended from Benjamin Ajax and Tabitha Miller Rice? So am I. Thanks, Charlotte Anne Miller ~~~Lima, Ohio~~~ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HookerFamilies http://hometown.aol.com/charlotte4871/myhomepage/profile.html Yahoo Messenger: CharlotteAMiller
The soundex for Mills is M420. Some census indexes use soundex rather than an alphabetized list. Once you get into the Mills under the M420, they're then alphabetized by first names. Only some counties in various states in the 1930 use the soundex. From theGovernment: http://www.archives.gov/research_room/genealogy/census/soundex.html The soundex is a coded surname (last name) index based on the way a surname sounds rather than the way it is spelled. Surnames that sound the same, but are spelled differently, like SMITH and SMYTH, have the same code and are filed together. The soundex coding system was developed so that you can find a surname even though it may have been recorded under various spellings. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, September 30, 2002 3:44 PM Subject: Re: [KYBELL] 1930 Bell County Soundex look up > I would also appreciate a look-up on soundex for 1930 census also for > Cleveland Mills and his brother Hugh Mills if someone could do that for me. > > Kay > > > ==== KYBELL Mailing List ==== > > > > ============================== > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 >

Received a copy of the marriage record for Albert and Martha Ingham dated at Pineville Bell County on 31 October 1891, there was nothing filled out on the application page. The marriage bond had Albert Ingham as principle and J.W. Vaughan as surety. Does this J.W. Vaughan connect to anyone?
