Hi Bath Listers, This person emailed me from the Bath Co., Archives page. I'd appreciate if any of you Goodpaster descendants or others could help her out and point her in the right direction. I bet she's related to half of us on this list :-) Everyone have a great day! Donna Manager Bath Co. Archives Rootsweb ----- Original Message ----- From: susan abernathy To: Donna & Bob Sent: Tuesday, December 04, 2001 7:12 AM Subject: Bath Co and family Donna Brenda Otis in Brown Co Ohio has been sending information through your website....I have become interested in finding out about my family tree on that side of the family in Bath Co....My family name there is Goodpaster.......I know some of the family but most are all gone......I will tell you a little...I have no idea where you are so you may not understand these places...... Most of the family comes from the owingsville, salt lick, Peasticks. (yes that is a place) and Polksville area that I know of......My Grandfather 's name was Elize Goodpaster and he married my grandmother Violetta who also was a Goodpaster but not related(as far as anyone knew)......there were Mckinely, Mort,Morgan, Lillian. Emma and Julie + grandpa...Emma now lives in Mt Sterling and Lillian Toy is in nursing home in Owingsville I think.. not sure.....The parents were Arnold and Elizabeth (sharp) the family home was made into a Funeral home bought by Robinson not sure if still there in Owingsville.....Mckinely was School Supt..another one was Kent..he married Mae who was blind for many yrs and well known in Owensville. lived on bath ave close to school think.....Im trying to find out about Arnold and Elizabeth...who their parents were and where they came from..I know they are buried in Owingville cemetery....I also am lookin for record of grandmother's birth and marriage too.....I think she was from Peastick area for there is a church there that her sisters were buried in.....I think there is bout 8 or 9 of them Arizona and Lizzie are the only ones I remember and and her last sister is still alive they tell me......named Mabel Cory......she lives close to Owingsville..... I need to know where I can find infomation from county records.....can you get this on line or do I have to come all the way to Owingsville and is this public Record...... Im retired now and really interested in the family..I understand they helped settle the area ..... I would love any suggestions or help or names you can give me in my search...This is all new......On my fathers side who was from Ohio they had a family bible with all the family info in it from my Great Great Great Great grandfather up to present time........so we were lucky there it could be traced back to England.... We think the Goodpaster name came from Dutch ancestors....not sure.. and came to Kentucky from Maryland.....that is for the whole goodpaster group not just our family............. Thank you for any help you can give me or light you can shed and if none can be found then thank you for your time.................................Sincerely, Sue Abernathy Goodpaster Family sabernathy@intouch.net
