    3. Seeking knowledge of family of Elizabeth Caldwell below. Could she belong to this Bath County family? ===== Family knowledge gives us that Francis P. McClain was my gg grandfather. His father was Alexander. An on-line bio states, "FRANCIS P. MCCLAIN is a native of Nicholas County, Ky., born November 16, 1818, the eldest of seven children born to Alexander and Elizabeth (Caldwell) McClain ..." From: NICHOLAS CO. MARRIAGE RECORDS 1799-1855 by R. & P. Selby (paraphrased): "Elizabeth Caldwell and Alexander McClain were married in Nicholas Co.,Ky on 4 Sep 1817" ===== Listed in 1820 census, Alexander McClain and wife, 2 children and an older adult, below. Alexander's family was back in Pennsylvania, so this extra may have been an in-law.
