I never considered that PERHAPS Alvin married another Cassity woman...?? I may have to look into that possibility. THIS WAS MORE COMMON THAN ONE THINKS. For instance if a brother died, sometime a single brother or a widowed brother might wed the other brother's widow, there you would have the same name, not necessarily that they might be marrying cousins within the line. This was also common as families stuck together in the wilds and there were just not that many folks around back then to mingle and become acquainted with. This seem to ocurr several places in my own lines. Just thought I would share. Thank you. Nena PS: I am searching for some information on an Andrew or Archibald Smathers/Smeathers/Smithers known to been in/around Bath Co very very early 1800's. Any leads would be most helpful.
