My grandfather, Lewis Johnson Barber (1 OCt 1849 Flemingsberg, Flleming Co. - died 1 July 1938 Saltlick, Bath Co.) had 3 wifes. The first was Mary Fenwyck (spelled Fendwick on death cert. of daughter Louvenia) She was born - Mary, 1853 and died about 1880-1887 in Bath Co. They had 3 children ? - Was given the name of Jack born 1865-1932 however I have never been able to find anything on him, 2nd child Louvenia D. born 17 april 1870 - 16 april 1957 Saltlick, bath co. married Lander Jack Rice. the 3rd child Virginia Morton 17 aug. 1873 - 20 May 1905. She married Edward Staton. What I have been looking for is any information on Mary's parents, siblings where they came from etc. I am also trying to find information on Lewis Johnson Barber's 3rd wife: Lila Teal, b 9 Feb 1872 Ky? - d? . Married 4 Feb 1916 at the house of Jack Rice and that Jack Rice and Ida Bell Rice were present and witnessed celebration. Have copy of marriage Cert. Marriage Cert Bk. 7 pag 228. Ida Bell was daughter of Jack and not his wife. I'm sure that Teal was not Lila's maiden name but have no other information on her. Family, siblings etc. any help on finding information on these 2 people of any of their relatives would greatly be appreciated. Nancy Barber McNatt >> Nancy, First I checked the 1850 Fleming Co. Census and your Lewis Barber b. 1849 was the son of George Barber age 29 and Sarah ??? age 33 They also ahd another child named Lousiana age 3 And I think I found yor LILA TEAL TOO! In the 1870 Bath Co. KY Census we have the following family: Obidiah TEAL age 37 KY Minerva 36 George Ann 14 Samuel 12 Mary 10 Matilda 8 Joshua 6 DELILA 4 Mariah 2 I know the date isoff from your post but...we all know about dates.
