I am trying to find a number of Carpenter connections. One is whether Squire Carpenter and Michael Carpenter are related and if so, how. Also, are they related to John Carpenter and Absolem/Abner/Ab Carpenter shown on the 1850 census? Also I am trying to find the connection (if any) between Nancy Caroline (Carpenter) Suttle [married Andrew Jackson Suttle] and Shelby Carpenter [married Judy Suttle sister of A. J.]. I am fairly sure that Shelby is the son of Squire & Elizabeth (Smith) Carpenter. But who is Nancy Caroline's father. One refernce says that Nancy Caroline is the daughter of Manuel Carpenter, but I cannot find any proof of that. Nor can I find Manuel Carpenter in any Bath County Census. Is Manuel a nickname -- maybe short for Emmanuel? Thanks.
