I have not heard anything about the Maze family so I am resubmitting. Anyone knowing anything, please respond. I would really like the information on the death certificates for Samuel Maze and James H. Maze. James H. Maze was my great-great grandfather. My great grand father was Samuel David Maze born in 1849, died 12/26/1925 and buried in Polksville Cemetery. My grandfather was Russell Maze who married Martha Triplett. They later moved to New Castle, Indiana where they are both buried. My father is Malcom Maze Sr. > > I would appreciate any help. The Maze family name first shows up in the 1790 census, in South Carolina, with one Abner Maze of Edgefield Co. By 1800, there are 6 Mazes, 5 in PA and NY, and one, Benjamin, in Iredell Co., NC. By 1810, there are over 20, 3 of them in KY - John, John, and Samuel, all in then Harrison Co. By 1870, there are over 200 Maze entries in the US census index, 7 in KY. Only one was in Bath Co. - Andrew J. Maze, keeper of a poorhouse. The others were in Fleming Co. (Andrew, Martha), Boyd Co. (Elisha), Scott Co. (Armilda, Drew), Lyon Co. (Liza). There are 25 Maze entries in Indiana in 1870. In 1910, there are 24 in KY, 49 in IN. It would be very helpful to those responding to your queries if you could specify counties, as well as towns, since most records are based on that. E.g., what counties are Polksville and New Castle in? --- Malcom Maze <malcommaze@wctel.net> wrote: > I have not heard anything about the Maze family > so I am resubmitting. > Anyone knowing anything, please respond.
