    3. 1810 census lists Daniel Duty, Mason Co., KY and Wm. Duty, Bourbon Co., KY. 1870 census, Sharpsburg Pct., Bath Co., KY, lists Sarah Duty,w, f, 70, b. KY, as a farmer, with Allen 46, Eliza 40, and Robert, 7 and George 4, (no separate last name), all black. Next door is A.D. Spratt 52, wife Mary Ann 46, children Mary 20, Louann 18, Andrew 17, Oliver 15, Leander 13, Charles 11, Ladina 9, and Wallace, 7, plus one farm laborer, Samuel Rogers, m, w, 20, and 4 black folks (last name Duty). They must have been md. before 1850. If they had older children who had md. and left home before 1870, then it was probably earlier. Maybe John was older? I think you need someone who has access to the 1850 and 1860 censuses as well. There is another Sarah Duty, age 75, in the same Pct., with a household of 10 blacks. There is also a 47-yr. old man C. M. Duty in the co., in Bethel, with his family, and several black Duty families listed. --- Jackie <jp55@wt.net> wrote: > I am attempting to identify the > children of Sarah Eden Duty > (1798-1882) and John Duty (1785-1856).
