I just finished reading "A Checkered Life" by John A Joyce, 1883. It is quite interesting and includes several chapters on his experiences in the 24th Ky Infantry regiment of the Union Army in the Civil War, in which many Bath county men enlisted. I recommend it if you have ancestors in this regiment. It might be hard to find, but you can probably get it through interlibrary loan.
