The following is the family of George Wm. Myers [15 May 1833-15 Feb 1906] son of Jacob and Lucy Corbin Myers and his wife Nancy J. Whaley [10 Sep 1835-3 Jul 1913, dau of Johnson and Helen Honaker Whaley. All were born in Bath Co., with the exception of George and Nancy's parents. 1. Mary Myers born 27 Feb 1856, died 6 Jun 1924, married Thomas L. Whaley who was born 15 Dec 1854, died 7 Oct 1899, son of James and Jane Whaley. Their children: 1. Claude S. Whaley born 14 Oct 1874, married 27 Feb 1901 to Mittie Wilson, died 26 Dec 1958. Mittie born 1876, died 16 Sep 1958. 2. Laura L. Whaley born 16 Aug 1877 married Clovis Dubois. 3. George Marvin Whaley born 21 Apr 1879 4. Gertrude Whaley born 15 Apr 1882 married Robert Miller. 5. Nancy Myers Whaley born 11 Jan 1893, died 16 Mar 1968 married A. P. Prather. Children of Claude and Mittie: 1. Charles T. Whaley born 15 Nov 1902, died 3 Oct 1993, married Bernice Booth 10 Sep 1925. 2. Frances Pauline Whaley born 25 Oct 1907 married Eldon Clark. 3. Elizabeth Whaley born 2 May 1911 married Wm. R. Stone. 4. Lucille Whaley married W. J. Clark. 2. Helen M. Myers born 18 Feb 1858, died 28 Mar 1943, married #1 Jonathan R. Purnell who was born abt 1855. They had one son, Julius M. Purnell who was born 1877 and died 1907. He was a doctor. #2 A. T. Forsythe. No children. 3. Lucy Florence Myers born 9 Feb 1861, died 28 Jan 1941, married George Miller Black in 1881, Putnam Co., In. He was born 1845 and died 7 Jul 1914 in Greencastle, Putnam, In. She died in Milford, Conn. Children: 1. Owen Miller Black born 4 Feb 1882, died 14 Jul 1936 in St. Louis, Mo. Never married as far as I know. 2. Paul Myers Black born 10 Jan 1886, died 22 Mar 1955. 3. Margaret Florence Black born 14 Oct 1889, died 21 Oct 1981, married Laurence Henry Sloan 14 Oct 1915. 1. Martha Sloan married Eugene Kalnin they have one dau, Laurie. 4. George Harold Black born 11 Dec 1891, died 8 Jul 1894. 4. Ida M. Myers born 18 Apr 1864, died 15 Nov 1945 Hopkinsville, Ky. married Marcus R. Desha of Bourbon Co., Ky. They had one dau, 1. Helen Elizabeth Desha born 14 Jan 1894, died 1981 in Hopkinsville. Married Charles J. Petrie abt 1915. He was born 23 Mar 1893 in Fairview, Ky., and died 22 Aug 1982 in Hopkinsville. They had one dau: 1. Carolyn Desha Petrie born 21 Nov 1920, died 25 Jul 1991 in Dallas, Tx., married Howard B. Coffman and had two adopted daus, Elizabeth and Ann. 5. Harvey Myers born 14 Jan 1871, died 18 Jan 1871. Is buried a few feet from his grandparents, Jacob and Lucy in the Old Bethel Cemetery near Owingsville.
