Family lore has it that my gggrandfather, John PURVIS came to Bath Co. with his sister. They were supposedly orphans from Holland, and they assumed the surname PURVIS from the family that adopted them. John PURVIS married Maggie Lee SNEDEGAR (1880-1927) and they had my ggrandmother, Mary Alice PURVIS (1902-1991) along with Abraham, Cecil "Lock," Ruth, Dave Will, and Lottie (m. Bill Henry WITHROW). John may be buried in a Catholic cemetery in Mt. Sterling in an unmarked grave. I'm afraid I have nothing more than family lore to go on. Any clues out there? Thanks. Darin Loftis
