Hi Bath Cousins, I have a question to pose to you. I was looking thru the 1850 Bath Co census and found my Tilaman Kerns who married Nancy Ellis. They are my 5th Gr Grandparents. Living right next door is a William and Nancy Kerns and their children. Is William a son of Tilaman's? And is the Nancy Conyers who is listed living with Tilaman his daughter Nancy Kerns who married a Conyers and if so which Conyers as I have a direct Conyers line also. I guess that was more than one question was'nt it :-) Thanks for your help in advance!! donna Division: 1st District Reel no: M432-191 Page no: 76A 1850 Bath Co Census 21 302 302 Tilaman Kerns 73 M W Farming 1750 Va K652 22 302 302 Nancy Kerns 72 F W Va K652 23 302 302 Lucinda Kerns 50 F W Va X K652 24 302 302 Matilda Kerns 48 F W Va K652 25 302 302 Nancy Conyers 34 F W Ky C562 26 302 302 Sarah F Conyers 7 F W Ky X C562 27 302 302 Elizabeth T Conyers 6 F W Ky X C562 28 302 302 Larenia Ellias 11 F W Ky 29 303 303 William Kerns 37 M W Farming Ky X K652 30 303 303 Nancy Kerns 30 F W Ky X K652 31 303 303 Robison Kerns 15 M W Ky K652 32 303 303 David Kerns 12 M W Ky X K652 33 303 303 Milly A Kerns 10 F W Ky K652 34 303 303 Tilaman Kerns 5 M W Ky K652 35 303 303 Nancy Kerns 1 F W Ky K652

Does anyone have a William Ward m. to a Nice Ingram. They were married August 11, 1818 Bath Co. Ky. Her mother a widow Mary Ingram gave permission to marry, and attest John Ingram. This was in the Loose Marriage Bonds p. 15 1812-1825. --- Patricia Hall --- patricia16@earthlink.net --- EarthLink: It's your Internet.
On the 1900 Bath Co Census, Bethel District. It lists a Tilman K. Davis and family. right next to Tilman is Sam Davis. Sam Davis is 43 born Jan 1858 wife Nannie 17 born Apr 1883, married 2 years with one child Claud L. born Mar. 1900. Living with them is the mother in law Margaret Hunt who's a widow, aged 54 born May 1844. also living with this family is a sister in law Eliza J. Hunt 12 born Jan 1885. And also a niece named Annie E. Woodard age 7 born Jun 1892. Tilman Davis and his wife Dorothy Grimsely who live next door to Sam are my 3rd Gr Granduncle and aunt. Is Sam a brother to Tilman? Which Hunt was Margaret married too? I have a Hunt line also. And is Annie E. Woodard the daughter of Ephriam Woodard and Mary Emma Hornback? They are my Great Grandparents. Ephriam is the son of William S. Woodard and ANN ELIZA Anderson. They are my Gr Gr Granparents. I find it a bit coincidental...Ive a gut feeling she's named after her Grandmother there...but WHY if she is their child is she living with these folks? She's the oldest of 7 children and only age7 here, I know by 1920 Ephriam and wife are in Hale, Carroll Co., MO. I don't know when they moved or if they took the kids or sent for them. Can anyone shed any light on this family for me? Thank you for your time Donna

Hi to all, I am stuck at my gr-gr-grandfather, George W. Johnson. In the 1860 census, he was living in Bath COunty KY withJohn Johnson, John's wife Nellie, and eight other children. "Washington" was listed as being 16 & a farmhand. Birthplace of entire household is listed as Kentucky. I can find John & Nellie Johnson in the Bath county 1850 census, but there's no sign of George or Washington. This particular census enumerator seems to be very careful about children with different surnames within a household. I'm wondering if George Washington Johnson might be a nephew or even a younger brother of John Johnson, but have no idea who John's father was. George Washington Johnson married Catherine Raburn, also of Bath County, in 1863. I'm also still trying to find him in the 1870 census-- Catherine is enumerated with her mother at that time, in Montgomery county. I know there are a gazillion Johnsons, half of them in Bath County, KY, & at least a dozen named George Washington. But does anyone have any suggestions about this particular brick wall? Anyone know if marriage bonds exist for 1863 that might list his parents? Any suggestions cheerfully, even desperately accepted. Pat Hobson

If you have any obits, wills, deeds, bibles, bio's etc you'd like to share please transcribe them to a text file or type them on an email and I'll get them on the archives page. I've added the text out of David and Ann (Barbee) Hendrix bible my cousin Vearl Stewart sent (HI VEARL) and Thomas Dudley Andersons death cert info. But, we do think it's important to share your gen info and to help others. We've found so many new family members that way which is what brought me to volunteer myself and my husband to be the archives managers. You all have a great day!
