HI Cousins Mary Jane ROBERSON was born Dec 1847 in Bath Co KY, daughter of James Roberson, and Priscilla Mc Clain . She married Oct 1.1866 to Benjamin Frank Daniel, who was brother to William Daniel that married America Roberson sister to Mary Jane Roberson. Frank and William Daniel were sons of Charles Daniel and Carolina Matthews , who were parents of Paulina Daniel that married my ancestor Thacker Karrick . I am seeking info and the names of the Parents of Charles Daniel They all lived in the Salt Lick and White Sulphur area in Bath Co, KY. There were 3 double marrages between the Roberson,Mc Clain and Karrick (Kerrick) Families ! Robert J. Karrick
Do you have approximated date of death or where she died? I have Mary A. as the daughter of James Roberson [1805-1899] and Priscilla McClain [1811- after 1900] born December 1847. She had a sister, America born Apr 2, 1845 who married to William Daniels who was suppose to be a brother of Mary A's husband. I had this from notes from a descendant. I also have a note that a Mary A. Daniels died in Mason Co., Kentucky on January 30, 1922 age 75. Perhaps if you get this death certificate it might help.
I am looking for the parents of Mary Jane Roberson(Robinson). Bornabout 1850-55. She married Benjamin Franklin Daniels Oct. 11, 1866 or near then. They lived in the Salt Lick area of Bath Co., Ky. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, F. Daniels

Hello, Thank you for the 1820 census look up for Christopher Myers. I just got on the list last night for the census look up, but I did search the archives first. I didn't see anyone with a connection to the Bourbon Furnace Jacob Myers. Does anyone know anything about the Jacob Myers that started the Bourbon Furnace? I did find the article in the archives about him, and I found a book at the library from which that info was taken. I also found some letters in the Bath list archives about another Jacob Myers with son Lewis who looked too young to be the Bourbon Furnace Jacob. Wells says in THE HISTORY OF CUMBERLAND COUNTY that the Bourbon Furnace Jacob "drifted" into Cumberland Co. about 1800. I find it hard to believe that the two are the same since Cumberland Co. One would think since Bourbon Furnace Jacob sold 3/4 of the furnace in 1791 "for the sum of 1, 426 pounds and 8 shillings and 6 pence, current money of Virginia," he would have had a will. However, Cumberland Co. Jacob Myers did have a son Christopher who for some reason isn't in Cumberland Co. 1820 census (he's back in the 1830). The only Christopher listed in the KY Index for 1820 was Christopher Myers in Bath Co. Perhaps this is an indication that Cumberland Co. Jacob did have connections to Bath Co. Does anyone know anything about the Christopher Myers listed in the 1820 Bath Co. Census with 3 males 0-10? Christopher and his wife were between 26-45. Was Christopher Myers still in Bath Co. for the 1830 census? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Gale
Hello, I found CHRISTOPHER MYERS p. 216 Bath Co. in the 1820 KY Census Index. If anyone has access to this census, I'd really appreciate the family numbers for Christopher. I did find the census listed on line but had no luck getting to the page. Thank you. Gale
In 1860 Bath Co census there is a Joseph Wells and wife Lucy listed with some children. Does anyone know anything about this family? Thanks in advance, Barbara
Deed of gift of G. W. Stoner to his children (Bath Co. KY DB V-182) abstracted: George W. Stoner of the county of Bath, KY "for and in consideration of the natural love and affection which I bear my children viz Michael L. Stoner, Fanny Smith, Minerva Williams, George W. Stoner, Thos. C. Stoner, Nancy Stoner, Maria Little, and Robert G. Stoner... transfer to my children aforesaid one equal half of all my property and estate of every description, slaves, personalty, money, choses (?) in action and every right legal or equitable which I may own or be possessed of .... at the time of my death when this deed of Gift is to take effect and the property, estate ... if any of my children ... should be deceased leaving children and heirs .... 6 May 1859. /s/ G. W. Stoner. Wit: Garrett Davis, Will L. Sudduth, Joseph Gudgell, Sr. (?) On the same date, G. W. Stoner made a deed of gift to his wife, Nancy Stoner (DB V-184). ... in consideration of the love and affection I bear to my wife Nancy Stoner and in further consideration of the important assistance which rendered me in acquiring and taking care of my property and estate and on condition of my said wife surviving me .... transfer to my said wife one equal half of all the property, estate, money, choses in action ... to have and own as her absolute right and property with the power to dispose of ... except the increase in slaves which have to go with and are to be accorded (?) a part of the original stock. And upon the death of my wife ... all the property I have given to her including the increase of slaves shall pass ... to my children [named as in previous deed of gift]. [no signature appears in deed book. The witnesses, however, are the same as in the previous deed.] An interesting point about these deeds is that one of the sons is not mentioned. According to the account in THE BOONE FAMILY, that son (Peter Tribble?) was a Union sympathizer. Years later the family made amends. When this deed of gift was executed, G. W. Stoner may have been anticipating the Civil War, or, he may have been in ill health. However, as seen from the letter he wrote to Lyman Copeland Draper (of the Draper Manuscripts), he was alive several years later. His actual death did not occur until a dozen years later. Comment: If anyone is familiar with any of the descendants of G. W. Stoner, I would like to hear from you. I am descended from Michael Lowery Stoner, who went to Texas shortly before the Civil War. Hello Listers: I really need some help with this one! I am tryingto locate the parents of William Johnson. b. abt 1838 IN or KY (depending on which census you hold to be true). William married Catherine Godfrey Hunt in Dec 1859 (I think) in Bath Co., KY. I have located them in 1860, 1870, 1880 and 1900. I have recently found an William Johnson on the 1850 Bath Co. census, age 10, living with Joseph Gill Williams b. 1788 and wife Nancy Hasty Williams. Next door to them is their son John Wesley Williams b. 1815 and wife Elizabeth JOHNSON Williams b. 1818 in Manchester, England. Elizabeth's parents are James Johnson b. 1773 and Sarah Johnson b. 1796. James died Sept 1841 in Bath Co., KY. His second wife was Hannah Hisketh. I am tending to believe that William in the son of one of James and Sarah or Hannah's children, but have been unable to find any children except for Elizabeth. I just know someone else must be researching the Johnson's of Bath Co. that could help solve this puzzle. I am also trying to find out when William died. I know it was between 1880 & 1900. Not much help there, I'm afraid. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Karen
Perhaps some researchers have an interest in this man. He is my ancestor. His wife was his first cousin, Nancy Tribble. Stoner's mother was nee Frances ["Franky"] Tandy Tribble, one of the daughters of Rev. Andrew Tribble of Madison Co. and perhaps of Clark Co. Preparer: Evelyn W. Wallace GEORGE WASHINGTON STONER. (1787-1871) Harriet A. Spraker, compiler of THE BOONE FAMILY (Baltimore: Genealogical Publishing Co.), has a section "The Stoner Family," written by a Stoner descendant, Bess Hawthorne. Hawthorne was descended from (George) Michael Stoner (formerly Holsteiner of Lancaster Co and Berks Co., PA). For information concerning George Washington Stoner, see No. 459, THE BOONE FAMILY, under the name of his wife Nancy Tribble, daughter of Peter Burris Tribble and his wife, Mary Boone. The Lyman Draper Collection (held by the State Historical Society of Wisconsin, Madison, WI), Kentucky Papers, contains some letters written by George Washington Stoner to Lyman Draper and other letters written by a nephew, John Stoner, later killed by "Yankee guerillas." See Draper C-55 ff. At the time of the interview, 28 Nov 1868, G. W. Stoner was living in Bath Co., KY which had been formed from Montgomery Co. In the interview, Stoner said he was born 1787 in Clark Co., KY, five miles SE of Winchester. Stoner said he and his wife (Nancy Tribble, his first cousin) were married in the spring of 1812. His parents were (George) Michael Stoner, an early pioneer of Kentucky, and Frances Tandy Tribble, about whom Draper had questioned Stoner and other relatives. Draper was interested in the pioneers of Kentucky and was an inveterate collector of American historical information, much to the delight of historians, biographers, and family historians. Films of the collection are generally available at large university libraries and some other larger libraries, such as the Family History Library at Salt Lake City and many University libraries. George W. Stoner and his wife had twelve children. Michael Lowery Stoner was one of those sons, and he came to Texas ca. 1859. Reportedly, the children of Michael Lowery, with the exception of Overton (George Overton), were taken to Kentucky to stay with their paternal grandfather during the Civil War, as their mother, nee Carlisle Harris, had died, leaving behind some very young orphans. Carlisle was the daughter of Overton Harris (d. 1827 in Madison Co., KY) and his wife Nancy Oldham, dau. of Richard "Ready-Money" Oldham also of Madison Co. The 1870 census, Bath Co., E. Sharpsburg, p. 703, line ll, indicates Washington Stoner, age 82, was a fairly wealthy man--$47,500 in real estate. Nancy, his wife, was age 75. (This was after the Civil War, when most Southerners had seen a sharp decline in their property, largely because the slaves, which were counted as property, had been freed.) His son, G. Washington, Jr., was in the same household with his wife Nancy, Jr. He had real estate value of $17,000 and personal estate of $2,185 estate. (To be continued)
