Does anyone have info on George McCarty, son of Anderson and Eliza Shultz? His address is given as Detroit, Michigan in 1917 when his mother died.
My grandmother was Elizabeth (Smith) SHULTZ. She was dau of John J. & Sarah Eliz (Pergram) SMITH. She m. Clay SHULTZ and she died @ Oct-Dec 1910. This was before they kept death records. Does anyone have her name listed inany of the cemetaries in Bath CO.? It's been a couple years since I was there and I wondered if anyone has recorded the graves in all of the Bath Co cemetaries. They lived in Olympia at the time of her death. jcjohnson of va

The Bath County web site http://www.mindspring.com/~kyblue/bath/archives/births/ns.htm#R lists the birth of Ruben Robertson, born 6 Dec 1852, parents Benjamin Robertson and Ellen McClane. So at least for Reuben, Ellen's maiden name was listed as McClane. On the other hand, http://www.mindspring.com/~kyblue/bath/archives/census/1860/1860r.htm Bath County Census - 1860: Record #230 (page 31): Benjamin ROBINSON, 46, Ky, farmer, land=$160, estate=$200; Nella, 35; Sarah J, 24; Angeline, 22; Catharine, 20; Martha, 18; Ruth, 17; John, 15; Henry, 13; Maranda, 12; Ruben, 8; Isabella, 5; Lucinda, 8mo If Nella was really 35 in 1860, she is too young to be married in April 1834 and to be the mother of Sarah, at least. What age did you have for her from the 1850 census? If the age is not in error, it might be that while "Petty McClane" and "Ellen McClane" are the same person, Ellen and Nella are NOT, and that only Lucinda is Nella's daughter. Which is why it is significant which child listed her mother's maiden name as Warren. This family was not listed in Bath County in 1870. -- Teri

Alright, all this Roberson/McClain information has caused me to resurface! Is there anyone who has figured out the Benjamin Roberson (possible Robinson) marriage to Petty or Betty McClan or McClain? Or is anyone researching this particular family? I have a Benj. Robinson who (in the 1850 cenus of Bath Co) is married to Nelly. She turns out to be Ellen, Nelly, Nellie, Penelope WARREN on the birth of a later child and on a daughter's death certificate. Now given the possibility that Benj. Roberson is Benj. Robinson and he married Betty McClain on 15 April 1834 [and Benj. has his first child, Sarah Robinson, in 1834], there is a chance that Betty died sometime before Nelly came into the picture? I've not seen a death record for Betty McClain Roberson, nor a marriage record for Nelly Warren. However! I am more than willing to throw all the possibilities around with anyone who is as frustrated as I am! I am aware that Nelly could look like Betty but the McClain...Warren has me confused. Recently I was on a Bath Co. site & saw an obituary for Thomas Thornsburg. He died in 1896 & was 90 years old. He lived in the Mud Lick area of Bath Co. & was buried in the Lower Salt Lick Cem. If anyone knows of the site I would appreciate the address. I just can't find it again. Thanks, F. Daniels

Hi Rebecca, Thanks for the reply. I wondered because the first time I "wadded" in that Cemetery, it was full of almost all Cassity's! I found my Great Grandmother buried there. All the family had forgotten where on "Stepstone" she was buried... but we found her. Her husband is buried in Siloam Cemetery on Bull Fork Road in Rowan County. Hello again, This cemetery may be referred to as the Power or Powers cemetery because John T. Power, a Great Great Granduncle of mine, is buried there, along with his wife Dulcina and his children Joseph Morrison and Jennie Power Carpenter. We suspect that the land at one time belonged to John T. but don't really know at this time. What tickles me is my Dad's information refers to the same cemetery as the Cassity cemetery. :-) Hope this helps! Rebecca P.
Can anyone on the list help with the West family of Bath circa. 1800-1850? Thanks!
This is probably not the right way to do this, but can you re-send to the list, inquiring regarding West family in Bath circa. 1800-1850. Thanks!
Hi all-- Happy 2002! I've never heard of this cemetery before. It wasn't one detailed on the Bath Co. GenWeb Page. I'll be visiting KY this coming August and Cassity is one of my surnames so I'd like to determine some of the Cassity's who are buried there. Anybody know more about this?
