    1. Re: [KYBATH] Keithley------Keitherley Bath Co. KY
    2. Well Phooey! Guess if I could spell it might help some. I finally found a Keithley page on Gen Forum so maybe I can connect now. I still want your input if you have something to share.....like who is Sarah W. Wilson? Thanks!

    1. [KYBATH] Keithley------Keitherley Bath Co. KY
    2. I am looking for a James Keithley who married Sarah W. Wilson 14 Nov. 1900 in Bath co. KY I have not been able to find the surname Keithley or any variation of the spelling. It is Keitherley in the 1850 Bath Co. KY Census and There is a James Keitherly age 11 living in the household of Thomas Arnold Sr, age 69 a carpenter from VA. He is listed with his wife Elizabeth [nee Hughes] Arnold married 18 April, 1816 in Bath Co. Marriage Book # 1 Probably this James was bound out to this couple since he is so young. I have no idea if this is the same James who married Sarah W. Wilson in 1900 or not. Seems he would be a little old for her but he might have married before he married her too. What might this name be? There is nothing close to this spelling in the 1860-70 Bath Co. KY Census......however there is a John Keithley in the 1820 and 1840 Census. Anyone have any ideas they care to share as to the spelling or the migration route they took from Bath Co. KY? Thanks! Vivian

    3. Peter, thanks for posting your message. I too plan a trip to Bath Co. in the near future and would like to make best use of my time. I hope to find info from 1820s thru 1930 in Salt Lick area. property deeds, wills, lawsuits, etc. are of interest - primarily anything with a link to the PENDLETON or GROSS families. (I would include the McClain family but Joanne has that side of the family covered!) any insights or suggestions from your experience would be of interest to me and perhaps to others. My visit may be restricted to a weekend. Do you know if the places you listed are open on the weekend? and are there other places you 'discovered' during your visit? If others have any 'inside' info for potential visitors I would greatly appreciate it. thanks, David Pendleton Ventura, CA -----Original Message----- From: Peter Crisler <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Date: Saturday, October 23, 1999 11:22 AM Subject: [KYBATH] Trip to Bath Co. >Hello Listers, > A few days ago I put out a request for any suggestions on my upcoming >trip to Bath Co. 2. AM I THE ONLY one mad at their 99 Salary questions? I just filled out the 2000 Census reports and was definitely P _ _ _ _ _ at their nerve at asking me to breakdown my 1999 revenue. I haven't even done my '99 taxes but the questions were too specific and unwarranted. My comment was "See '99 Tax returns". Did anyone read the disclaimer in the front saying "No one will see this information but it might be used for statistical viewing." Did they forget about what we are waiting for (to be released in 2002) PUBLIC viewing? The 1930 census!!! LLoyd McDaniel

    3. It's my understanding that the rural areas and one in 25 non-rural areas get the long form. We got the short form. (In 1990 we got the long form.) Linda and I filled the census out tonight then went on the Internet to submit the contents electronically -- we therefore don't have to send that form back to the census bureau. I took a peek at what Linda put in for her birthdate and I THINK she removed 10 years from her age. They never stop do they! I can see it now -- in 100 years I'll be accused of robbing the cradle.
