    2. Barbara Weaver
    3. Thanks Helen for contacting me about your EVA WEAVER. IF I can document Cornelius Weaver from Fleming Co. Ky. is our GGgrandfather, that will lead us to George P. Weaver of Fleming Co. Ky. Our Greatgrandfather, PETER W(alter?) WEAVER, (b.1830 Nicholas Co. Ky.) listed his parents as being born in VA. I believe GEORGE P. WEAVER and PHILLIP TILLMAN WEAVER of Fleming Co. were possibly brothers. I saw on a Fleming Co. Ky. query by an Eleanor Dye, a HENRY WEAVER came into Fleming Co. Ky. in 1800 as well as a MARGARET WEAVER ( I can't remember who she married). Hope you have more to share as you go along and I will do the same. Barbara Weaver [email protected]

    3. Anyone, have "ANY" Weavers mentioned in your notes? I'll take crumbs. I have my eye on a CORNELIUS WEAVER (b.1783-VA.) marrying an ELIZABETH 1803-1812. Daughter Nancy, says she was born in Bath Co. abt. 1812. They were back in Bath Co. for the 1850 Census (from Nicholas Co.) with a 16 year old daughter, Margaret. Who did Margaret marry? All gone by 1860 census. Did they die in Bath Co. and are they buried in Bath Co.? Thank You. Barbara Weaver [email protected]

    1. [KYBATH] Purvis Mystery
    2. Family lore has it that my gggrandfather, John PURVIS came to Bath Co. with his sister. They were supposedly orphans from Holland, and they assumed the surname PURVIS from the family that adopted them. John PURVIS married Maggie Lee SNEDEGAR (1880-1927) and they had my ggrandmother, Mary Alice PURVIS (1902-1991) along with Abraham, Cecil "Lock," Ruth, Dave Will, and Lottie (m. Bill Henry WITHROW). John may be buried in a Catholic cemetery in Mt. Sterling in an unmarked grave. I'm afraid I have nothing more than family lore to go on. Any clues out there? Thanks. Darin Loftis

    2. Peter Crisler
    3. Hi David, So you are planning a trip to Owingsville too? My sister and I went last October and had a wonderful time. We stayed at the Fairfied Inn in Mt. Sterling which is just down the road from Owingsville. The price was reasonable and there were several restaurants all around the motel. In Owingsville we went to the courthouse and did some research there. There are quite a few books full of records, and the people who work there are very helpful. They will make copies for you if you find anything useful. I don't know if they are open on weekends or not, since we were there on a Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Across the road from the courthouse is the new library. There is a genealogy room with a lot of information. There are books, microfilm, microfilm machines, census info, etc. You should be able to find out alot there. There were also some deeds and wills. These were the only two places that we did any searching since we went there mainly to visit some relatives of my Dad's. I don't remember what the hours were for the library, but surely someone from the Bath Co. list knows that. You could also go to the Bath Co. Webpage and check out the library info. I hope this helps. Good luck on your trip.
