Jesse Karrick born Nov 1853 George W. '' Aug 15, 1854 Mary Jane '' Sep 30, 1856 All three name George W. Karrick as father [born in Bath] and Amanda MC CARTY as mother. [born in Bath] Andrew J. McCarty and Francis McClain were married July 1836 Francis Marion was born Jan 17, 1839. Seems likely Amanda was born 1837/38 and it would explain why James McClain, Francis' father put up 1500.00 bond for George W. Karrick in his murder trial, if Amanda was his granddaughter.

I need some input on this Death Certificate and it needs to come from a WILLS or KARRICK researcher. In the 1850 Bath County Census there is an Amanda MCCARTY living with Andrew Jackson and Francis [nee McClain] McCarty. She is clearly not their daughter....she is age 14 [b. 1836] and they were married July, 1836. In the Bath County Marriage Book # 2 There is a marriage between George Washington KARRICK and Amanda MCCARTY on 28 June, 1852. In 1870 Bath County Census there is a family there: George W. Kerrick 36 Amanda 36 Jesse 17 George 16 Mary 14 Isaac 11 Lindoff 9 John 6 Viola 4 Milly 1 Apparently they had more than this.....Because I have a Death Certificate for Dora KARRICK b. Oct. 14, 1878 who married William Wills. This Death Certificate states that Dora WILLS was the Daughter of George Karrick and Amanda SHROUT . The informant was her husband Willie Wills. Dora died July 2, 1946 in Bath County.....was buried July 4, 1946 in the Family Cemetery. Can anyone add to this or offer any ideas about it? I would like to know who Amanda's mother was? Just Curious!
