I would like to compliment most highly the list members of the SCKY and Barren Co lists. They are some of the finest people one could ask for! We have a track record of lots of information, lots of cooperation and sharing and I am thrilled; we are the exception to the rule. Just a reminder to all of us - not a condemation to any of us. But, we'll all been guilty at times of forgetting to say thank you and acknowledge when we've been helped. I am NOT speaking of me - you guys have always been good to drop me a note if I've helped you. But sometimes when we put out a query and someone helps us out, we forget to say that little thank you. Sometimes that help goes way beyond what is expected, a lot of look-ups, photocopying, mailing of materials .... you know, we've all done it. Then the recipient gets busy and forgets to say that thank you which means so much. So - if someone on the list or off has given you a helping hand to break down one of your brick walls, or provided even a smidgen of help that opens up another door of research for you - take time to email them back, or write them, and say thank you. It means a lot! And - you might find a long lost cousin with a ton of information if you show your appreciation ...... or .... if you don't take time to thank them .... someone who will never help you or anyone again. Again - this is not personal to me, but I know it happens a lot in the world of genealogy. Don't be a taker and runner, be a taker and a thanker! Have a grand day; still prepping for the seminar!
