I am doing research for someone so I don't know a LOT about them. The family was told that Mary was not married when she had him and she took him to an orphans home in Louisville, KY and went back to get him a year later. He remembered a man coming to see him at home when he was a little boy and he took his hand and squeesed it so hard it hurt. He said he always remembered that and thought he was his real father. On the death cert. he named Fleming Parrish as his dad but I am thinking it was because he didn't know who his real dad was.
