    3. I'm sorry I missed the "F's" for William Ferguson, but I will send it for Catherine Gilmore. She was the daughter of Frances "Franky" EUBANK and Joseph GILMORE of Albemarle Co., VA. I have not discovered who William's parents were. Catherine "Caty" and William married 28 Oct 1793 in Albemarle Co., VA, and they were my 4th g-grandparents. They left Albemarle Co. about 1807 and moved to Sumner Co., TN. They were there a couple of years and then moved to Barren Co., KY in an area that became Allen Co. in 1815. He is listed in the 1810 Barren Co. tax list living on Walnut Creek but Catherine [Caty] is shown as head of household in the 1810 Barren Co. census. I'm told he cut his knee with a broad axe and died shortly after they moved to Barren Co. Catherine is listed on the Barren Co. tax list 1811-1814. On 3 Nov 1815 she married Benjamin Bailey, a local Baptist minister, and she lived to be almost 100 years old. [She was living in Allen Co. after 1815.] Their daughter, Frances Ferguson, is my ancestor. On 18 Nov 1817, she married Thomas Spilman in Allen Co. He was the son of Mary Massey and Thomas Spilman who came to that area around 1790 from King George Co., VA DNA testing on a descendant of Catherine Gilmore and William Ferguson has shown that William is part of the John Ferguson/Ann Stubbleson family of early Essex Co., VA. I can't say he is a direct descendant of John Ferguson, but he could have been a nephew or cousin, but there is a relationship with that family. I'd love to know more about any of these families and will be happy to share what I have. Best wishes, Sharon Clark Fort Worth, TX clarksha@verizon.net
