Monday has rolled around again, rapidly! Some upcoming events and announcements. Thursday night, June 28th, is the monthly meeting of the South Central KY Histotrical & Genealogical Society. Our speaker will be former president, Sam Terry, who will be showing a wonderful slide presentation entitled "Our Town". It is reportedly very good - a look at Glasgow in the early days with photos of people and places. The meeting is at 7 pm, free parking, at the Cultural Center at 200 Water Street in Glasgow - the old KY Pants Building. Tentively - in July sometime (likely on Saturdays), I will be teaching a Genealogy 101 class at the Mary Wood Weldon Library on College Street in Glasgow. The dates and times are not confirmed yet but I should know in a few days. Thank you SO much for all the kind and enthusiastic reports on the new 1850 annotated Barren Co Census that Charles Hartley and I did. I'm glad it is helping many of you! I have just finished a re-do of the Metcalfe Co Vital Statistics - I'm posting from the births on this list, but the complete book includes the deaths and many marriages. I re-formatted the book making it easier to use; and it is also now available on a CD. Modern technology is catching up with me! I also just finished the Guide for Kentucky Researching Volume 12 taken from the KYRESEARCH posts. I'm still slowly working on the Grantor index of deeds 1798-1932 - this is a slow process! I will be checking in with Charles Hartley this week and hopefully we will be re-starting the Puzzler's on Mondays. So many of you have asked for me to do this again and if I get through this week (a hectic one with medical appointments for my Mom) ... I'll try to get organized again if Charles is still willing to maintain the web site where the genealogical puzzles will appear. Have a great week!
