C. Owen line indeed ended in Texas. I will have to dig my research out of the attic, but here's what I recall off the top of my head: CC Owen was my GGG(?)Grandfather. My line descends from Maywood Berry Owen, Sr., who I think was born in Taney County, Mo. and whose immediate family moved to Houston, TX in the 1910s according to the census records. Maywood Berry Owen, Sr. was my GGrandfather, and I think the grandson of CC Owen. My grandfather MBO II was born in Houston or Galveston in 1920, attended Texas A&M (Class of '41), and married my grandmother Nina Louise Campbell in '42 I think. My father MBO III was born at Fort Monroe, VA in 1943 where my grandfather was stationed in the coastal artillery during WWII. MBO II and his family moved to Tyler, TX after the war (I don't know why they chose Tyler, but my grandmother had family in nearby Dallas.) My dad MBO III grew up in Tyler. MBO II and my grandmother divorced in the 1950s. MBO II remarried thereafter to Jane Owen (don't recall her maiden name), they lived in Houston, and they had no children. MBO II died in Houston in 1969 at the age of 4! 9. I was born in Houston in 1967 to MBO III and Judith Lynn Campbell (of Tyler) while Dad was in dental school. After two years on an AFB in Kansas (where my sister was born), we moved to Tyler where we grew up (joined by my other sister, who was born there). I am the last male Owen of my line, and live in Houston. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
