I'm posting this to the list with permission of June Jeffries Watts, juneandbud@bellsouth.net, and ask that you remember June, a longtime list member, and her family in your thoughts and prayers in the loss of her dear father. Raymond got his first computer at age 80 and loved genealogy. He was also the uncle of another one of our list members, Judye Hafling. Our deepest condolences to both June and Judye and their families. I knew Raymond will be dearly missed. Sandi Raymond Jeffries, age 88, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness Sunday July 15, 2007. Mr. Jeffries was born in Knob Lick KY, December 27, 1918. He lived many years in Miami, FL. and retired to Blairsville, Ga. before moving to his daughter's home in Navarre, FL. in 2006. He was an Executive Chef, and later was in Real Estate. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, a Shriner, member of the Mahi Shrine Club of Miami, and a member of the South Florida Orchid Society. He was an avid golfer and outdoorsman. In retirement he enjoyed genealogy. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ora Jeffries Reece, his father Lewis Henry Jeffries, and his wife, Johnny Mabel Jeffries. He is survived by his sister Opal Anderson, Knob Lick. KY; his son Joseph Jeffries, Hialeah, FL; his daughter, June Watts and son-in-law Doyle, Navarre, FL., and his daughter Linda Giblin and son-in-law Mark, Navarre, FL. His five grandchildren Greg Jeffries and his wife Janine, Tammy Majewski, Eric Watts and his wife Laura, Doug Watts and his wife Emily, and Scott Blackketter and his wife Natalie. His eight Great-Grandchildren; Tori, Samantha, Derek, Nathan, Brandon, Kagan, Ashlynn, and Brenna who were the light of his life. Special thanks to Dr. Fitzgerald and his staff at Hope Medical Group in Pensacola and Gulf Breeze FL., and the special people at Covenant Hospice of Pensacola whose help and kindness will always be remembered. Funeral services will be held at Butler Funeral Home, Edmonton, KY. with Rev. Carlos Anderson Officiating. Viewing will be on Wednesday evening from 3 to 8. Services will be at 10:00 AM Thursday.
