GLASGOW - James Robert Hoover 96 of Glasgow[PHOTO] died Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the Glasgow Health & Rehab Center. Born in Metcalfe Co. he was the son of the late Courtney & May Pedigo Hoover. Mr. Hoover was a mechanic for Richardson Brothers at Eighty Eight and a school bus driver for Barren County School for several years. He was also a veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Army and a member of Basil Chapel Baptist Church. He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years Edna Dickey Hoover; a daughter Barbara Yates of Horse Cave; a son James Dickie Hoover and wife Faye of Glasgow; 2 grandchildren Tammy Ann Hoover of Caneyville, KY and Chris Hoover and wife Stephanie of Glasgow; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 5 sisters Bernice Hoover, Ruth Pedigo, Lucille Reece, Dorothy Smith and Jewel Hoover and 2 brothers Roy and Harry Hoover. Funeral services will be 11:00am Tuesday, January14, 2014 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Union #2 Cemetery with Military Honors provided by D.A.V. Chapter #20 of Glasgow.
