My computer tech just left. I am up but on a patched together system sadly. It was a virus that hit yesterday, making its way through several layers of virus program protection. It destroyed a lot of my system, including my restore point, favorites and wouldn't allow me access to any of my folders/files. To get me up and running for now, he had to create a new account - so I am running on two accounts. On one is my e-mail and my virtual XP files. (Note, I do not go to the internet on the XP side, I have three programs I must use that will not run on Windows 7, none cloud based). For my other files - Word, etc. etc. I have to use the new account. So, I physically have to log in on one side to check e-mail; log out and log in on the other account to use my word documents, etc. etc. All of which takes times. As soon as I can afford it - I need to take my system in to him and have him dump thousands of files and then reformat my entire system. This would not be cheap due to amount of things I have on my system. So, I'm hoping to limp along for now and see if it holds together. I'm skipping my posts for today, just have a lot to do to get some things "back to normal" on the computer so I can figure out where to go and when! Thanks for your patience!
