GLASGOW - Lonnie Eugene "Gene" Jessie, 70, of Glasgow, died Monday, March 17, 2014, at NHC Healthcare in Glasgow. He was the son of the late Travis and Tampa Jessie. Gene was a retired mechanic and body repairman. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. He is survived by one son, James Jessie and wife Amanda of Glasgow; three grandchildren, Kolton Jessie, Kayla Brown and Olivia Gorman; one great-grandchild, Raelan Vibbert; one brother, Dale Jessie of Muncie, Ind., four sisters, Ruby Spears, of Columbus, Ind., Juanita Bunch, of Glasgow, Opal Morris, of Muncie, Ind., and Shirley Watson, of Glasgow. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; brother, Reid, and mother-in-law, Verta Janes. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in Moore Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 until 8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
