GLASGOW - Joe Riley Jackson, 82, of Glasgow, [photo] died Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at his residence. Born in Barren County, he was the son of the late William Elzie and Maude Lee Copas Jackson. Mr. Jackson was a member of Mount Tabor Baptist Church, a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army, a member of Cave City Masonic Lodge #790 and a retired farmer and brick mason. Survivors include his wife, Polly Jackson of Glasgow; two daughters, Jackie Todd and husband John G. Todd III of Summersville, S.C. and Pam "P.J." Jackson-Hancock of Glasgow; three grandchildren, Shannon Murphy of Harrison, Ohio, Savannah Ramsey of Travelers Rest, S.C. and Chantz Hancock of Glasgow; five great-grandchildren, Mason and Ethan Murphy, and Hayden, Cooper and Lucas Ramsey; several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Thomas, Walter, Jim, Pete and Roy Jackson; and a sister, Hazel Jackson. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by DAV Chapter #20 of Glasgow. Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. provided by Cave City Masonic Lodge #790 and the public is welcome to attend.
