INDIANAPOLIS - James F. Cherry, 81, of Indianapolis, passed away June 18, 2014. He was born April 19, 1933 in Austin, KY, to the late William Mack and Edna Levi Cherry. James served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and married Doris J. Phillips, April 16, 1955. He was a job setter for Chrysler Corp. for 32 years, retiring in 1993. James was a member of Westside Church of Christ. Visitation will be today, June 20, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 E. Washington St. with funeral services Saturday at 1:00 p.m. James is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Doris J. Cherry; children, Shirley J. Behrens (Chuck), Dennis F. Cherry, Brenda K. Davis (Duane) and Bill B. Cherry; grandchildren, Andrea Davis, Ashley Davis McClelland (Greg), Kyle Davis, and Michael and Danielle Behrens; brothers, Glen (Betsy) and George (Judy) Cherry; sister, Phyllis Nunn (Steve); and sister-in-law, Glenda Cherry.
